This year, Vine, a social media app consisting of 6 second videos created by it's users, has climbed near the top of the most frequented social media platforms. In August 2013, Vine grew to over 40 million registered users. As the popularity grows, more and more businesses are realizing the value of having an account on Vine.
Many users get creative with the 6 second videos that are posted on Vine. Some people have even become "vine famous", having over 3.5 million followers and attracting crowds wherever they go. Business are even using these Vine celebrities to make their own clips. Companies such as AT&T, McDonalds, Spotify, Trident, and Wendy's are all using Vine to promote their business and promote their brand with this new social media app.
