Spring/Summer 2018 Internships
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Paid, full time. We are looking for recent
graduates or near graduates who are interested in getting their foot in the door at the LDS Church.
This is a full time internship. You will be able to work 30-40 hours a week. Much of your time
will be spent working closely with senior researchers in setting up and conducting focus groups,
creating surveys, analyzing feedback and results, and writing briefs for product stakeholders.
HEAL Utah: $500 Stipend, part time. The Healthy Environment Alliance of Utah is a grassroots
organization committed to engaging the public in efforts to protect Utah’s health and environment
from nuclear & toxic waste, and promote clean energy policy. HEAL Utah is seeking an intern
that can reach new supporters, research and write material that supports our campaigns, engage
dozens of volunteers, and assist with events.
Hill Air Force Base: Unpaid, full time. Responsible for assisting the Community Support
Coordinator through providing support for the management of cross functional operations
relating to individual/family/community resilience and individual preparedness. Will aid in
analyzing/evaluating Air Force Community Assessment results and developing the community
The Leonardo: $1,700 stipend, part time. The Leonardo provides patrons the opportunity to
engage, explore, interact and create at the intersections of art, science and technology. The intern
will promote divergent thinking and innovative action, specifically in the realm of Mind Riot, our
state-wide innovation competition. The intern will gain strong research and development skills,
practice profession writing and communication, and receive specialized training in 21st-century

Mountain America Credit Union: $15/hour, full time. This internship will focus on content
creation, publicizing content and social media amplification for created and curated content. The
accepted applicant will work with MACU on researching, analyzing, and crafting content on
behalf of the company. The ideal candidate is a strong writer who multitasks and has excellent

Springville Museum of Art: Unpaid, part time. Gain valuable job experience in a dynamic and
beautiful setting! Internships are offered on a rotating basis by academic semester and open to
professionally directed students and graduates. Interns are assigned to a specific department and
may assist with the following: curatorial, education, and communications.
United Way of Utah County: Unpaid, part time. Using appropriate research, United Way of
Utah County identifies the community's most pressing needs and their contributing factors and
then brings together resources to achieve measurable results. Grandfamilies is a program for
grandparents, aunts and uncles, or other relatives who are raising a relative’s child because the
biological parents are unable or unwilling to do so. We provide support and education to these
families in order to help them ensure the safety and permanency of the children in their care.
Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy: $8/hour, part time. Assist Program Director in planning
and implementing professional and cultural programs for incoming International Visitors and will
research local professional resources, contact local resources, prepare programs, meet with
International Visitors, and write proposals for prospective programs.
97th Floor: Paid, part time. 97th Floor is a leading digital agency that has been in business for
over 8 yrs. We are thought leaders that speak all over the world regarding the industry. The
intern will help our team develop long-lasting online relationships while promoting 97th Floor’s
ability to help enhance each client’s online presence.
Deseret Book: $7.25/hour, full time. Deseret Book Company is a leader in the publishing,
distribution and retailing of religious books and music serving members of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. What we are offering — apart from your hourly wage — is

Governor Herbert’s Office (Communication/ PR Intern): Unpaid, part time. This position
will offer an array of experience in communication and public relations, in a fast-paced and
rewarding professional environment. Interns will have the unique opportunity to attend media
events with the Governor, execute strategy, author news releases, provide social media content
and assist in speechwriting, as they learn about the workings of the Governor’s Office and the

PilmerPR: Paid, part time. Break into the world of PR or hone skills you’ve already attained.
Our interns have the write reports, research press lists, manage editorial calendars, and track
coverage. Interns use their social media know-how to represent great clients and learn from
advanced PR professionals. Hours are flexible and you can work from the convenience of your
home conducting work via internet and phone.
Thanksgiving Point: Unpaid, part time. Thanksgiving Point Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
farm, garden, and museum complex that draws upon the natural world to cultivate
transformative family learning.
Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce: Unpaid, part or full time available. This internship is
designed to provide opportunities for a student to work with professionals in the field of event
planning. They will develop skills in business and community event execution as well as
successful marketing practices. As the Chamber of Commerce we also offer a great environment
to build relationships with businesses throughout Utah County.
Wallaroo Media: Unpaid, part time. Wallaroo Media is an online marketing agency in Provo.
Our internship allows for exposure to a little bit of everything that we do: content marketing,
social media, PR-driven outreach, SEO, foosball, etc.
The Walton Group: $500 stipend, part time. The Walton Group, Inc. provides a public
relations and integrated marketing team dedicated to solutions, professionalism, ethics, useable
creativity and responsive attention to clients for mutual success. Interns assist professionals with
new business development through research of potential contact, scheduling appointments for
presentations, assisting with proposals and creative ideas and meeting with potential contacts.
APCO: $11/hour, part time, fall and spring semester and full time summer internships. Global
communication and business strategy firm. Offer internships in many departments, including:
Office of the CEO, Business Development, Client Service, Corporate Marketing and
Communication, Digital Strategy, and Opinion Research. Proficiently in a foreign language
preferred. Must have prior experience in an agency setting.
Americans for Tax Reform: $8.25/hour, full time. Looking for students studying
Communication, Political Science, Economics, Accounting and Finance. Interns will be paired
with a staffer while working in research, social media, and listen to hearings on Capitol Hill.
Your application should include a Resume, Cover Letter and Writing Sample.
Department of State: Paid and unpaid internships available in DC and in embassies abroad, full
time. Intern duties include writing reports, assisting with trade negotiations, assisting with visa
work, helping Americans in distress abroad, and organizing visits/conferences of high-level
officials. Applications are due 6 months in advance of internship start date.
Heritage Foundation: Paid, full time. Interns work in homeland security, tax and budget,
communications, religion and civil society, the rule of law, and foreign affairs doing research.
LDS Public and International Affairs: Paid, full time. Interns can expect to assist with
planning, execution and follow-up for events such as the Festival of Lights Celebration at the
Washington, D.C. Temple, Ambassador Wives Dinner and Summer Family Picnic. Foreign
language ability is a plus because most of intern work will be conducted over the phone or in

National Council for Adoption: Unpaid, full time. NCFA is an established adoption advocacy
non-profit that promotes a culture of adoption through education, research, and legislative action.
Internships are available in the various departments of the NFCA: Communications,
Development, Government Relations, Public Policy and Social Work. Interns should be dedicated
to the NCFA’s mission of helping children find loving, permanent families through adoption.
Senator Orrin Hatch: $1,250 per month, full time. They try to hire one intern from UVU per
semester. Internship also available for Senate Finance Committee.
Senator Mike Lee: Paid $1,250 per month, full time.
Congressman Chris Stewart: $1,500 per month, full time.
Congressman Rob Bishop: Pay $1,800 per month stipend, full time.

New York, New York
Discovery Communications: Paid, full-time Communications & Public Relations internships
are available in Los Angeles, New York City and Silver Spring, Maryland. Both our Network
Communications teams and our Corporate Communications teams work to brand Discovery and
its networks as a world class company and programmer. Discovery’s publicity teams ensure that
our programs get the best coverage in the media and entice people to tune in through creative
means. As an intern some of your responsibilities would include: drafting press releases,
creation of media lists, media monitoring and managing special events.
Hill+Knowlton: $15/ hour, full time. This is a formal internship designed to introduce you to
the day-to-day business of a strategic communications firm and to help you develop the essential
written and oral communicative skills required to conduct public relations activities. The
internship is merely step one toward what will become a fulfilling career for many.
Ketchum PR: Paid, full time. Students in this full time paid program will act as fully integrated
members of account teams and will be assigned a mentor for support and guidance to help them
get acclimated into PR.
