UVU PRSSA Hosts JetBlue’s Social Media Support Supervisor, Brent Devey
Jet Set your Social Media with the Social Networking Professional
Orem, Utah, October 3, 2016 – Public Relations Student Society of America at Utah Valley University announces they will be hosting Brent Devey, supervisor of social media support at JetBlue. The event will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Utah Valley University in the classroom building (CB) 510/511 at 7 p.m. and will be open to the public.

Devey’s presentation will focus on effective social media strategies and online communication with a portion of the night dedicated to Q&A. The event will be live tweeted on the UVU PRSSA Twitter account (@uvuprssa) for those who are unable to attend.
Devey oversees JetBlue’s social customer support while working closely with their marketing and corporate communications teams. He manages a team of more than 25 crewmembers to deliver the JetBlue experience to customers via social media channels. Devey and his crewmembers also work together in developing and maintaining JetBlue’s brand voice and tone in written and verbal communication.

UVU’s chapter of PRSSA was established in October of 2009. In a short seven years, their chapter has more than 140 active students within our university and has received local, state and national recognition. By 2013 they had received the National Outstanding Chapter award. In addition to holding monthly professional development activities and programs, UVU PRSSA has received four Golden Spike Awards, including Best of Show and Utah’s Top PR Industry award. More about Brent Devey:
After his graduation in 2012 from Salt Lake Community College, Devey began working for JetBlue as a reservations agent. Devey began to work his way up at JetBlue in being promoted to social media support, then to social support lead, to reservations team supervisor and then landed his current job, social media support supervisor. Last year, Devey decided to continue his education at Thomas Edison State University in New Jersey and is intended to receive his bachelor’s of business management degree in business administration and management in 2017. Amongst his professional career at JetBlue, Devey works as the goalie coach for Riverton High School’s lacrosse team. With his love of sports, his goal is to visit every Major League Baseball stadium before he turns 30 years old. He is currently at 19 ballparks. In his free time, Devey enjoys fishing, watching movies, and spending time with his wife and their dog.
