Nicolas Iannon - VP of Advocacy
Nicolas Iannone (Nico) is the Vice President of Advocacy for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) at Utah Valley University. A senior from Kaysville, Utah, Nico is pursuing a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Business Management.
Anticipated to graduate in April 2016, Nico hopes to take his new role on the board and use his knowledge and experience in public relations to help the chapter have another award winning year. His goals are to increase student awareness, promote student and member engagement, assist on the fundraising committee and aid the board of executives in planning and carrying out all PRSSA activities for the 2015-2016 school year.
Nico previously worked as a PR and Marketing specialist for PilmerPR, a small Public Relations firm based out of Orem, Utah. In this capacity Nico’s duties included content writing and management, social media marketing, SEO management and media-pitching. Nico also created a men’s clothing company that he owns and operates. He hopes to continue developing key PR skills and tactics in his last year at UVU to prepare him for a career as a PR professional. He also hopes to obtain a Masters degree in PR in the near future.
When not attending class or working with the PRSSA Nico enjoys restoring vintage motorcycles, spending quality time with family and friends and exploring the great outdoors.
Motivate members through his enthusiastic attitude toward PRSSA.
Promote ethics and diversity among UVU PRSSA members.
Plan and coordinate at least one on-site ethics event per semester.
Work with VP of Digital Communications to incorporate ethics/diversity national initiatives into UVU's PRSSA social media outlets.
Advertise and promote to all members the annual PRSSA High School Outreach program.
Serve as a liaison between current national VP of Advocacy and UVU PRSSA members.
All other duties as assigned.
